Today is a rather splendid day. It’s World Pasta Day! Some of you may be surprised that such a day exists but pasta not only is a staple of almost every Italian meal time it has become a firm favourite outside of Italy as well.
World Pasta Day was created as part of the World Pasta Congress on the 25th of October in 1995. Experts from all over the world came together to discuss how to join together to promote and encourage people to learn about and eat plenty of pasta!
They wanted to emphasise its nutritional benefits along with its affordability and versatility. And 22 years later World Pasta Day still exists.
In the UK we love Fusilli, Spaghetti and Penne the most, however there are many other shapes to try which all suit different dishes.
