Fun Activities To Do With Your Kids This Summer

It can sometimes be tricky to think of new and interesting activities to do with your kids but if you are a little creative then you can certainly create some wonderful memories with them this summer.

Go On A Camping Trip

Pack the car and head away for a quiet weekend camping with the kids. It is a great way for them to get some fresh air, learn basic skills like how to start a campfire and go fishing with ice fishing suits on you all. They will probably enjoy time spent away from computer screens and smartphones and will just be able to enjoy the natural surroundings, play games and get plenty of exercise.

Cook Up Some Nice Treats

You could spend the day in the kitchen baking some nice treats. This is a fun interactive activity that they will enjoy plus they get to taste things along the way too. Things like cookies, cupcakes, pizza, bread dough are good hands-on recipe ideas to make. It is a great way to allow them to be creative, work on their cooking skills and teach them to be patient as they wait for the goods to bake.

Fun Day Out

How about venturing to Free Comic Book Day which will have an extensive collection of comic books aimed at various different age groups. They could dress up as their favourite character if they are already familiar with certain stories. It is a good way of encouraging your little ones to read and provides a bit of escapism, which is always useful when there is an ongoing pandemic.

Be Creative With Bedtime Stories

To make bedtime more interesting why not get a little creative and make your own custom made children's book. It will be unique to any other book they have read and will encourage them to keep reading if it is a story they have helped create. It also allows them to tap into their inner creative side, which is always a good thing.

Create a Scavenger Hunt

To encourage them to go outdoors and get some exercise, why not create your own scavenger hunt in the back garden. You could organise a set list of items that they need to find using puzzles to solve as clues. You could then provide a fun reward to whoever manages to collect all the items in the quickest time. This will create a bit of fun rivalry between siblings too.

Science Based Experiments

Another idea is to create some fun creative experiments to do at home with the kids that are interesting but can also teach them something useful in the field of science. Kids are more likely to respond to a fun interactive activity than just reading information. If they can see things visually they are more likely to be able to respond to it. Plus it is another fun activity to do at home besides playing video games or watching tv.
