Amazon Shopping Tips that Will Save You Money

You don’t need to wait until Prime Day to save big on Amazon. That’s right, outside of the known savings of a Prime Membership (free 2 day shipping, exclusive discounts, etc), there are even more Amazon shopping tips that will save you money!  Are you ready to hear all about them?

Scout out Amazon’s Today’s Deals Page

Regardless of what you are shopping for, be sure to check out the “Today’s Deals” tab on Amazon’s home page.  You never know what deals may have popped up that day, it may be just what you are already shopping for. Additionally, they often have lightning deals, which are deals that are even more discounted and last only a matter of hours, so this is well worth checking out. 

Utilize Subscribe and Save

For many household items, Amazon offers a Subscribe and Save option. This means that you will subscribe to receive said item every 1-3 months automatically. This option always comes with a discount, but also often comes with extra coupons on top of the discount. Additionally, once you reach 5 S&S items, your discount goes up! Even if you aren’t going to need to buy this same item again, you can take advantage of the discount and cancel the subscription after the item ships. 

Trade Your Stuff In

Did you know that Amazon accepts trade ins? That’s right. Amazon has a list of electronics and books that they will accept for trade!  You can head to the trade in page, punch in your items info and see what they will pay you for it.  You then get a free shipping label to send the item in and once they accept it and determine that it is in acceptable condition, they will email you an Amazon gift card. 

Take Advantage of Being a Student

If you are a student and have a valid .edu email address, you can get a free 6 month Amazon Prime account, plus, once your free trial is over, Prime is half price!  This is a great way to save even more!

Shop the Amazon Outlet

Did you know that Amazon has an outlet store?  YEP! Head over here and check out the thousands of items that are overstock and discounted.  You will find some rock bottom deals here, so be sure and bookmark this page to come back and shop when you are looking for a specific item. You can find deals on anything from health and beauty, to electronics, clothing and more. 

Clip coupons

In case you didn’t know it, Amazon often offers coupons on items! If a specific item has a coupon available, you will only see it when you are logged into your account. It will be shown just below the item price where you can check the box next to it to “clip” the coupon. As I mentioned earlier, occasionally these coupons only apply to Subscribe and Save orders, so be sure to read the specifics before placing your order.
