WIN! 'The Bilingual Brain' a new study by Albert Costa

As many of you know; here at Mammaprada, we are raising our children bilingually. We’ve spoken to them in only our native languages English and Italian from birth. It’s been and still is a fascinating journey and the rewards are incredible.

For us the benefits go beyond the ability to communicate in other languages but more importantly, we’ve seen our children’s perception of culture and understanding of others expand. They are more curious, more accepting and fascinated by how people live, eat, play and interact.

This month we’ve had the opportunity to review a new study on the science of language, The Bilingual Brain by Albert Costa. Albert is a leading expert in this field with twenty years of experience. He explores studies and examples from Canada to France to South Korea.

The Bilingual Brain investigates the significant impact of bilingualism on daily life from infancy to old age. It reveals, among other things, how babies differentiate between two languages just hours after birth, how accent affects the way in which we perceive others and even why bilinguals are better at conflict resolution.

Thanks to the lovely team at Penguin publishing company, we have two copies of the book to GIVEAWAY!
