Christmas Gift Guide for Primary School Children

Ad: This is a sponsored post, however opinions are 100% my own.

Christmas is just 6 weeks away and if you’re like us, family are already asking what to gift their grandchildren or nieces and nephews! We’re in a new stage where our children are too big for noisy toys. However, I don’t really want them to spend all their time on video games either! Even if they might enjoy this!

So how do you find some fun and engaging gifts they will play with long after the big day has passed?

There is so much choice and it’s hard to filter out the passing trends and not get into the frenzy of buying too much. I usually lean towards outdoorsy and educational gifts especially if the learning element is disguised by play. With this in mind, here we have a mixture of what they will love to receive and what you will be happy to give!

So browse through our list of the Best Christmas Gift Ideas for Primary School Children in 2023.

For the bookworms!

My children get through a lot of books, so these are always welcome presents. Here’s one of our cherished authors with her latest captivating novel.

The Legend of Childers Forest by Gillian Young

Poppy the golden retriver returns with her younger sister, Devon, in another Crazy Cream Adventure. We read Poppy Loves Devon last year and it was brilliant!

This time when a family of rabbits are driven from their home, Poppy and Devon make it their mission to help. But will they get into mischief?

Drawing inspiration from Gillian's own beloved retrievers these stories are always a delight. You can see Poppy and Devon for yourself on Twitter!

Christmas Crafts

We always like to gift something you can do with your hands at this time of year. Something for that lull when you’ve all eaten too much but you need to stop watching another Christmas movie!

My children, and even my 11-year old son love a bit of crafting (although don't tell anyone because he's big now).

Baker Ross are one of my go to stores as they are resonably priced, can go in stockings and have a selection so vast there is something for everyone.

Our current preference is for ceramics which you can decorate with paint pens. These pots can then become anything you like from money boxes, to pencil pots, or for house plants. Take your pick!

There are a large variety of animals, and different characters to choose from. I’m sharing the pug as one of our children would like one and this is as close as they will get to a puppy!

Harry Potter Walk

The ultimate Harry Potter themed gift would be one of these experiences. Would your child or even a grownup like a Harry Potter walk full of London filming locations?

The Wizards London Walk is a perfect way to spend a couple of hours in the city.

Not only will you see film locations but also the iconic London landmarks with a proper guide. Iconic sites include St Paul’s Cathedral, Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern, Trafalgar Square, Borough and Leadenhall Markets and Monument.

LSW Cards

If you are looking for something for a sensitive soul, we completely understand. We have a little one like this, but also recognise that we can all benefit from these cards.

If you haven’t heard of LSW they were founded by Lili Sinclair-Williams, a therapist who wanted to create wellbeing tools that were easy to use and accessible for everyone.

She believes focusing on positive habits, that we repeat daily can transform our lives.

The ‘Kids' Edition’ cards make it fun and easy for you to introduce the power of mindfulness, gratitude and affirmations, and help your child to keep calm, understand their feelings and focus on the present.

These a brilliant gift in our sometimes too busy world. Buy a pack here.
