Your Family, The Big Apple, And You: A Quick Travel Guide
Traveling to New York City with your family is going to be an experience for all of you. Going on adventures and doing new, novel things together can really help you to strengthen your bond and create memories for the future.
In this quick travel guide, we’re going to give you some useful tips you and your family will love. Read on for more!
Family Shopping
There’s shopping for everybody in New York, whether you want to head over to Tiffany’s or your kids want to check out the comic book shops. There are also many video game stores, makeup stores, bookstores, lego outlets, and so much more. A little retail therapy can’t hurt, can it?
If you’re looking for some cool clothes for your kids, neighbourhoods housing smaller boutiques are best. Soho, Cobble Hill, and the Upper West Side are worth a visit.
Which Sites To See As A Family?
Now, we’d be here all day if we listed every single cool thing you could see while in NYC. However, many of them are kid orientated, such as the sky observatories, the museums, and the urban zoo. Many of them also have tours and programs that are aimed at children. Remember, that kids will tire quicker than you so limiting the amount of sites you see every day is a good idea.
Some of the sites you can see are high energy, while others are more relaxed. It’s a good idea to mix the two. Central park itself has so much to see; a zoo, places for a picnic, and lots of space for the kids to play. Rockefeller centre is an iconic area of Manhattan and home to many NBC hit shows such as Saturday Night Live, The Today Show & Jimmy Fallon. There’s also a rink, the Channel Gardens, and an observation deck. Plus, if you get bored of all of that, amazing places to eat and shop.
Check out which attractions are free or discounted for kids. If you’re unsure whether you’ll be able to take your kids, call in advance.
Finding The Perfect Place To Stay
Where you stay will become the backdrop to your trip and can make a big difference to the time you have. Think about what’s important to you; do you want a kitchenette to cook your own food? Maybe you want a pool, or room service? You could start by looking at a hotel in Clifton Park, New York to get a feel for the sort of place you want to stay.
Taking A Hop On, Hop Off Tour
These bus tours are fantastic, as you get to see all of the main sites without killing your feet. You can get off wherever you like to explore more, and just get back on when you’re ready providing you’re at the right stop. A great way to get your bearings of the entire city and learn some things along the way. Kids love this!
Have a fantastic time in New York!
