Transforming your home into a relaxing space is a lot easier to do than you may initially think and that’s due to many technological advancements as well as modern-day interior hacks that you can easily apply to your home.

Using interior hacks like plants can easily add colour to your living room as well as break up any white space. Changing your bedroom doors, using a sliding door kit, can make a difference to the appearance of your room and mirrors make a room look bigger and brighter - especially if your room is a small one!

Below is our guide to transforming your home into a relaxing space. We hope to give you some inspiration on easy changes that you can make in your home.

Use plants to your advantage

Plants are affordable, easy to get hold of and can transform any room in your home into a relaxing space, whether it’s your living room, bedroom or kitchen. They add a nice range of colours to your room, as well as a new dynamic. You can visit your local gardening centre where you will see plenty of different types of plants that you can purchase, some that require less looking after than others - you don’t want to buy a plant that requires a lot of upkeep, especially if you like to go away and travel a lot.

Mirrors to brighten up rooms

If a room is dark, it can feel dingy,  unpleasant and certainly not relaxing. A quick hack that can quickly brighten up a room is to use mirrors. Mirrors reflect light, making a room look brighter. They can also make a room look bigger and add a nice feel to your interiors. You can get mirrors in all shapes and sizes, helping fit in the smallest of spaces. Pinterest is a great place to look if you want to get some inspiration on the types of mirrors that you can use in your home.

Rugs on your flooring

Sometimes you don’t have the money to change your flooring, so instead, why not use rugs? Rugs can instantly change a room and add colour, and style as well as cover any bits of flooring you don’t like in your home. You can use a rug in your kitchen, a rug in your bedroom and in your living room. By having multiple rugs around the house, you can move them around to constantly change the feel of different rooms, helping them feel more relaxed. If you are unsure if a rug would work, start by buying one, this way if it doesn’t work in the original room in which you bought it for, you can try it in other rooms.
