Three of the best activities in Majorca for kids
The island of Majorca has long been a staple destination for sun seeking families across the globe. The pleasant year-round temperatures and the many family-friendly activities to choose from combine to make the perfect recipe for a memorable trip away. But with so many attractions on offer, how can you possibly narrow it down to fit everything in? We’ve taken on the unenviable task of picking from the island’s top family-friendly activities that have to feature on your Majorca itinerary.
Palma Aquarium
Is there a more crowd-pleasing holiday activity than spending the day at the local aquarium? Discover over 8,000 animals who call Palma Aquarium home, whilst learning about conservation efforts in the Mediterranean and around the world.
For an even more immersive experience, why not try one of the many interactive activities on offer here? Start off by coming face to face with a virtual humpback whale, as you learn all about their songs and methods of communication. Then, test your nerve aboard the Shark Vision Boat which allows you to get up close and personal with the sharks as you gaze through the glass bottom. Settle your stomach at one of the three on-site restaurants, or head to La Cantina for a well-earned ice cream.
La Reserva Galatzó
Embrace your wild side at La Reserva Galatzó and spend the day swinging from tree tops and exploring the nature reserve’s breathtaking landscapes.
Located within the forest is a leisure park which comes equipped with a climbing wall, hanging bridge and zip wires – maybe not one for the faint-hearted! After tackling the longest zip wire in Majorca, take a wander around the park and catch your breath with a little bit of bird watching. Keep your eyes peeled for the birds of prey that can often be seen flying above the mountainous landscapes of this stunning wildlife refuge, including eagles and vultures.
After a busy day exploring, make the most of the park’s picnic and barbeque area, where you will also find a bar to stock up on snacks and cold refreshments.
Aqualand
Is a family holiday truly complete until you’ve paid a visit to a waterpark? The island of Majorca is home to three in all, including Aqualand which is found just a short drive from the capital of Palma.
Here you will find plenty of high-octane rides to satisfy the family’s resident daredevils, from the 15m high half pipe of ‘Tsunami’ to the high-speed, stomach-turning ‘Kamikaze’. There is also lots for the little ones to enjoy, too. Head to Adventureland where you will find 12 slides suitable for tiny travellers, and be sure to swim with the dragon living in the swimming pool at Dragonland.
There are also a handful of slides designed to bring the whole family together. See who will take the crown on the ‘Multipista’ races, before convening in the multi-seater rubber ring and braving the ‘Grand Canyon’ together.
