How to find the best travel art prints with Wychwood Art Gallery
We moved into our new home in Kent a year ago now. We've done lots of 'fixing' things but none of the fun decorating or styling. So I'm really ready to start bringing some character into our home.
To help me do this, I was delighted to discover Wychwood Art Gallery. A place of wonder, where you can buy art online from a variety of professional artists in different mediums, prices and type of print. I found so many wonderful artists here and am already full of ideas for each of our rooms.
If you find it a little overwhelming choosing the right artwork, having one gallery which offers so many styles and moods is really useful. It helps you consider the look of your house/apartment as an overall concept and think about which types of art may suit each area. Think about how you want to feel and the impression your visitors will have as they walk into your home.
Wychwood offer a range of artwork from limited edition prints, acrylic, oil, linocut and Giclée digital print. It's down to personal preferences whether you choose fine art print, striking pictures by a professional photographer, mounted prints or framed canvas.
A great way to enjoy choosing your home decor is to pick high quality artwork from a reputable gallery. You will have popular mediums on offer, plus a wide variety; such as larger sizes if you need them or small, perfect, photo prints to select for different rooms. There will be the peace of mind that you are buying from a firm which specialises in this industry and has close connections with the artists themselves.
Favourite memories
One way to group your thoughts is to consider what are the most loved activities or places for your family members. We love experiences and travel so finding pieces which evoke happy memories from our adventures is a great place to start. If this suits your family we love the following items which may help you pick the best option or offer some inspiration.
Cornwall, UK
One of our favourite UK destinations is Cornwall. My mother's side of the family are from this area and so I remember fondly many holidays spent in this beautiful spot. I now drag my husband and children there at least once a year and we all love it.
I was pleased to find Gordon Hunt an artist from Fowey in Cornwall, creating these stunning acrylic prints on premium canvas. ‘Sailing break’ is an original artwork by Gordon . A popular choice for gallery walls with the dappled light and vibrant blue colours.
Gordon Hunt paints in acrylic on canvas with a deep edge wooden frame. He's great at showing both the finished article and the back of the print so you are aware of how your painting will arrive.
Italy
We couldn't write about our travels without mentioning Italy. There is beautiful wall art of the country on Wychwood Gallery from 'Manarola' by Anya Symmonds to this stunning linocut of a farmhouse in the hills near Lucca by Elaine Marshall called 'Memories of Tuscany'.
I love the sharp detail of the foilage and tranquil scene. It makes a big difference to have a variety of styles in your rooms and this linocut can provide a focal point. This would definitely make you take a moment to pause in your home or intrigue a visitor.
Greece
Our second love for a long time now has been Greece. The light and vivid colour there is incredible. The food, landscape and people are all wonderful. This brightly painted seascape of a Greek harbour will be recognisable to many who love to holiday here.
From the prominent displays of purple bougainvillaea growing across little, white houses, to the green, olive trees and bee hives in the hills. It’s all so familiar. Having this hanging in your home can only bring a smile.
Called 'Greek Harbour' by Relton and Marine it looks like an oil painting but is acrylic on canvas. Sold unframed so you can choose your frame style.
A common question
If you would love to find artwork at an affordable price or are on a tight budget, don't rule out finding the best canvas prints for your home in a gallery.
From still life, to seascapes and gorgeous modern plants there are plenty of options under £500.
With a whole category dedicated to artwork under £100, don't miss out on filling your dwelling with unique,much-loved items. I'm really taken with ‘Linnets Over Salthouse’ by Joanna Padfield. The blue and white are captivating and just my colour palette.
However, I would always recommend injecting a little humour into your home and this ‘Mini Fab’ lolly print by Gavin Dobson sums up summer travel memories for me. Created in Cymk screen print and glitter, it gives a feeling of lighthearted fun and merriment. It would actually make a great gift.
I hope this helps you make the best choice with the types of prints you hang in your home. Forget famous paintings or the latest popular option or trends. Choose subject matter which makes you happy and is the best fit for your family.
