Best Cheap Caravan Holidays in Cornwall in August

Ad: This is a sponsored post, however opinions are 100% my own.

I've been going on summer holidays in Cornwall since childhood, my mother's side of the family are all called 'Curnow' which means a person from Cornwall! So you can see why this might have featured a lot growing up. We had the best adventures packing up the caravan and heading off at 5am to miss the traffic. Now with my own family we do the same.

It's hard to beat this part of the country with the sea views, sandy beaches and great attractions like the Eden Project, Newquay Zoo or the Minack Theatre. So if you're looking for the ultimate, relaxing Cornwall break, these are your next steps!

For caravan owners don't forget to renew your caravan insurance. This is so important but often gets left to the last minute, be sure to include caravan breakdown cover so your holiday memories are kept super positive! Once you've checked your tyre pressures, central heating (for English weather!) and secured any loose items, it's time to dream about that Cornish cream tea!

With the South West you are spoilt for choice when it comes to caravanning so we've picked 5 of the best places covering different areas of Cornwall.

Cornwall Caravan Holiday Parks

Sandparks Campsite, Widemouth Bay near Bude, north Cornwall

A beautiful laidback spot overlooking one of Cornwall's best surfing beaches. There is no outdoor pool onsite but you are so close to the sea we don't think you would even notice.

There is a pub, food shop, restaurant and surf hire all a short walk away. The perfect place for a very calm, serene break with direct access to the sand dunes. You can also bring your four-legged friend as dogs are welcome.

Even booking a late deal now you can find a non-electric grass touring pitch for just £24 a night for 2 adults. Cheap holidays with breathtaking views of the Cornish coastline.

St Ives Bay Holiday Park - Hayle, west Cornwall

A popular site due to the proximity to beautiful St Ives itself. This is such a stunning location, you can enjoy the buzz of the town and escape to the campsite when the crowds get too much.

Here you'll find a three-mile sandy beach at a family holiday park with lots going on. There's a play area, indoor pool and excellent facilities such as a washing up area, free wifi and launderette.

There are dog-friendly options for pitches with certain breeds excluded. But this is a great option for the whole family at a highly sought after St Ives holiday village.

Treloy Touring Park - Newquay

Newquay is perfect for great caravan holidays and Treloy has fantastic facilities such as a heated outdoor pool, generous pitches and individual washrooms. There are even parent and baby rooms and family bathrooms.

If that wasn't enough campers can enough high-speed wifi for those rainy days. The local cafe has locally sourced food, there's a warm welcome from the shop with essentials, plus coffees, croissants and Cornish pasties. Everything you need for your holiday caravan without going offsite.

With world-class beaches a short drive away, you can be on golden sands in 10 minutes. These great value breaks offer electric grass pitches for 6 people at £41 a night.

Mill Lane Campsite - Portleven

This is a lovely, family-run touring caravan and campsite located close to the centre of the historic fishing village of Porthleven.

Both dog-friendly, with great sized pitches. There’s lots of space so it’s not too over crowded and has a lovely small campsite feel. There's easy access to Porthleven beach which is a 5 minute walk away. This is famous as one of Cornwall’s best reef breaks for the surfers among you.

If you like a community vibe, Porthleven village is very quaint and hosts an award-winning Food Festival, has unusual cafes, pubs and a bit of fine-dining.

Surprisingly there is even entertainment in the evenings as the on-site free house sells the world-famous Cornish ale Spingo, brewed in Helston. So settle in for a lovely pint at the end of a hopefully warm summers day!

Seaview Holiday Park, Penzance

Less than a mile from Land's End you'll find Seaview Holiday Park. As the name suggests you are close to Sennen Cove one of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall.

There are incredible views across the south coast from this point, which is a well loved spot for families with its wide beach and perfect setting.

At the caravan site there's an outdoor pool, crazy golf, a games room and a play area. Facilities include toilet blocks, showers and a launderette. Dogs are allowed and the site is open all year round.

From tents to touring pitches there is a variety of accommodation available. An electric point touring pitch for 2 people in August is £27 per night.

All of these are great places to try across Cornwall and make a perfect base to explore the wonderful county. There is so much in the local area to see and enjoy from the natural beauty of the landscape and live entertainment. Or visiting gorgeous villages like Port Isaac from the TV show Doc Martin, plus it's all in easy reach.
